Mountaineer 
Travelling onboard the Rocky Mountaineer is an
unforgettable experience, considered by many to be, a trip of
a lifetime. The two-day rail journey recaptures the romance of
rail travel as it follows the historic train route constructed
over 100 years ago through Canada’s West and the Canadian
Rockies, uniting the country. The entire train ride takes place
during daylight hours to ensure you enjoy every minute of the
breathtaking scenery of glacier-fed lakes, majestic mountains
ranges and ferocious rivers.
The Rocky Mountaineer train travels in both eastbound
and westbound directions between the beautiful coastal city of
Vancouver, British Columbia, the resort town of Whistler, B.C.
and Jasper or Banff and Calgary, Alberta.

Welcome aboard The Whistler Mountaineer! This journey will provide
you with an exclusivelook at some of the most spectacular views
in British Columbia when it premieres in 2006. Following the famous
Sea to Sky corridor, this three-hour train experience is a link
between two world-class destinations, showcasing Vancouver to
Whistler, British Columbia, like never before. Not only will you
experience a relaxing and comfortable ride but you will also be
privy to such scenic delights as cascading waterfalls, old-growth
forests, snow-capped mountain peaks and brilliant Pacific waters
from a unique train perspective.
You
have the choice of enjoying a trip on the Whistler Mountaineer
independently or in conjunction with several different vacation
packages. Some will include a ride on the newest addition to the
Rocky Mountaineer routes, the Fraser Discovery Route, a two-day,
all daylight journey between Whistler and Jasper, Alberta, which
will also launch in 2006.
